I’m posting these tweets here because they have disappeared from my updates page along with others posted during the same time.  The ones before and since are still there.

I want Obama to fail.

I want his policies to fail.

I want the Democrats in Congress to fail.

I want liberals and liberalism to fail.

I want socialists and socialism to fail.

I want universal health care to fail.

I want cap and trade to fail.

I want Democrats’ efforts to raise taxes and increase the size and power of government to fail.

I want Obama’s efforts to ruin the U.S. economy to fail.

I want Obama’s and other Democrats’ efforts to destroy capitalism to fail.

I want Obama’s efforts to undermine the Constitution to fail.

However, I want America and Americans individually to succeed.

As I mentioned in a post yesterday, I’ve been rereading The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress the last few days.  I ran across this description of a Loonie liberal.   (Loonie being what the residents of the Moon call themselves.)

Must be a yearning deep in human heart to stop other people from doing as they please. Rules, laws–always for other fellow. I guess most of the people who follow me on Twitter follow so many people that they don’t have a chance read all of my tweets.  I was hoping for answers to some of these questions; others are rhetorical:

• If liberals believe in evolution, why doesn’t the survival of the fittest apply in economic/financial situations?
• How did the single mother with six children who had octuplets pay for the fertilization procedure and her medical care?
• Don’t you think the liberals want us all on welfare? Isn’t that socialism?
• Where in the Constitution does the Congress have the authority to be trying to influence the economy?
• How could he [McCain] be what we (conservatives) wanted when he was selected by Democrats, independents, and the media?
• Do any of them [Republican Senators] know how to really filibuster–as Jimmy Stewart did in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington?
• Can Steele tell Republican senators that if they vote for the porkulus bill, they won’t get any money from the RNC in the future?
• If the porkulus bill passes the Senate, doesn’t a joint committee have to reconcile differences, then the houses revote?

I’d still like answers to the second, sixth, and seventh questions.

“Open for Questions” at Change.gov closed at noon.  There were 20,463 people who proposed and voted on questions.  If you’re looking for a laugh, you can find the questions archived here.

1. “Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?” (7947 votes) – Is anyone surprised that this would be the top priority of liberal voters?  By the way, the president doesn’t make or abolish laws.
2. “What will you do as President to restore the Constitutional protections that have been subverted by the Bush Administration and how will you ensure that our system of checks and balances is renewed?” (6054 votes) – We should be more worried about what Constitutional rights Obama and the Democratic Congress will try to abolish.
3. “What will you do to establish transparency and safeguards against waste with the rest of the Wall Street bailout money?” (5982)  – Safeguards against using the money to bail out the UAW?
4. “Will you lift the ban on Stem Cell research in your first 100 days in office?” (5376) – There is no ban on research into adult stem cells, which is actually providing some results.  There is also no ban on research with the strains of embryonic stem cells that already exist, but there haven’t been any results.
5. “What will you do to promote science and mathematics education to Elementary and Middle School students?” (3964) -  Education is a local issue not a national one.

Obama’s Change.gov website has a page where people can ask and vote on questions for the President-Select.  (I don’t believe that the Electoral College has met yet.)  Here are two of the top twenty questions right now:

• “Will you introduce legislation to enable refinancing of older student loans with high interest rates (8.5% and more) into the lower rates currently available? You can refinance any other kind of loan except student loans and that’s not fair.” [liked by 507 people and increasing]
• “What legislation will you introduce to preserve Net Neutrality and stop the telecom industry from eviscerating the greatest communication medium of all time?” [liked by 461 people and increasing]

Have these people forgotten or did they never learn that it’s the legislative branch that introduces legislation not the executive branch?

By the way, how much legislation did Obama introduce while he was in the legislative branch?

This site could provide some humor and insight into the liberal thinking processes–or lack thereof–in the near future.

According to a report at Rocky Mountain Right, “Former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis has openly argued for . . . moderating the GOP’s image and fielding more centrist candidates.”  The Republican Party did just that with McCain this year and lost.  A conservative might have won, but we’ll never know because the only real conservatives, Tom Tancredo and Fred Thompson, dropped out early in the primary, and Republicans were left with a moderate candidate who was selected by Democrats, independents, and the media.

Anyone who thinks the Republican Party should “[moderate] on social issues” and move more to the left should look at the results for Proposition 8 in California.  Despite the draw of having Obama on the ticket, the proposition that defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman, a position supported by social conservatives, won handily.

When conservative candidates and issues were on the ballot, they usually won.  Leftists will vote for Democrats not Republicans who campaign as Democrat light.
