I started reading Mitt Romney’s new book, No Apology: The Case for American Greatness, this week and quickly discovered that none of the quotations (or paraphrases or summaries) or data from outside sources were documented. The book contains no footnotes, endnotes, parenthetical citations, or bibliography. That is plagiarism pure and simple.
Before anyone accuses me of religious bigotry, please note that I am LDS (Mormon). Also, as an English instructor, I know plagiarism when I see it. If one of my students had turned in a paper like this (and some have), he or she would have received a zero and been reported to the proper authority.
