The New Leviathan by David Horowitz and Jacob Laksin

In The New Leviathan:  How the Left-Wing Money Machine Shapes American Politics and Threatens America’s Future (New York:  Crown Forum, 2012), authors David Horowitz and Jacob Laksin “describe five critical areas of public policy . . . where the network of left-wing funders and activists has moved radical agendas and ideas from the political margins to the political mainstream and made them the official policies of the Democratic Party”:  immigration, national security, healthcare, environment, and government unions.  Data about the foundations discussed in the book can be found at DiscovertheNetworks.org (17), which, unfortunately, is misspelled in the book.

If you haven’t read David Horowitz and Richard Poe’s The Shadow Party:  How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals  Seized Control of the Democratic Party (Nashville: Nelson Current, 2006), you should.

The Manchurian President by Aaron Klein with Brenda J. Elliott

In The Manchurian President (Washington, DC:  WorldNetDaily, 2010), Aaron Klein (on Facebook and Twitter) and Brenda J. Elliott (on Twitter) pick up where David Horowitz (with Richard Poe) and Michelle Malkin left off with The Shadow Party and Culture of Corruption, respectively.  Klein and Elliott clearly outline “Barack Obama’s Ties to Communists, Socialists, and Other Anti-American Extremists” as the cover promises.

One source often cited in the book is Trevor Loudon (on Facebook and Twitter), a libertarian blogger from New Zealand, on whose blog, New Zeal, you can read “The Obama Files” (106 files to date) in which Loudon traces Obama’s socialist/communist connections.  He (Loudon) is also a contributor to KeyWiki, which “is a bipartisan knowledge base focusing primarily on corruption and the covert side of politics in the United States and globally” (“KeyWiki:About“).

My only complaint about the book is that the fonts used for subheadings and page numbers make them difficult to read.

Reading: The Shadow Party

Anyone who is concerned about ACORN, SEIU, and the current culture of corruption or who is a member of Glenn Beck’s audience should read David Horowitz and Richard Poe’s The Shadow Party:  How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals [like Harold Ickes] Seized Control of the Democratic Party (Nashville: Nelson Current, 2006) because Soros and his cronies won’t stop with the Democratic Party.  Soros wants to control the entire world and turn it into an “open society.”  I’m not a psychologist, but I think Soros must be a megalomaniac.

In the book, Horowitz and Poe relate how the shadow party was formed.  They also list the “seven sisters,” which are “ostensibly ‘independent’ non-profit groups, which, at the time, constituted the network’s administrative nexus” (182):

  1. MoveOn.org
  2. Center for American Progress
  3. America Votes
  4. America Coming Together
  5. The Media Fund
  6. Joint Victory Campaign 2004
  7. The Thunder Road Group LLC

The links above are to the groups’ profile pages on DiscovertheNetworks.org:  A Guide to the Political Left, one of Horowitz’s web projects where you can find more up-to-date information about the individuals and groups discussed in the book.

Soros has used his wealth to overturn national elections in Slovakia, Croatia, Yuboslavia, and Georgia (232, 236).  He tried to defeat George Bush (238-240).  What will he do in 2012 if his candidate loses?  If you think this is a wild conspiracy theory, just remember Soros’s own words:

I do not accept the rules imposed by others. . . .  If I did, I would not be alive today.  I am a law-abiding citizen, but I recognize that there are regimes that need to be opposed rather than accepted.  And in periods of regime change, the normal rules don’t apply.  One needs to adjust one’s behavior to the changing circumstances.  (175)

Soros seems to think that he is the one who should determine which “regimes” should change and what the change should be.

The Shadow Party was published in 2006 before Barack Obama became the Democratic nominee for president.  What is Obama’s relationship with Soros?
