If our Senators and Congressmen will not have meetings in the largest city in Colorado, then I will take this an attempt to duck out of their duties. We the people are their employers. If my employee will act with such arrogance, then I will fire him with my vote when elections role around.

Thanks for the information! I didn’t include Polis because I’m not in his district.

Markey is taking family time and not sure what her schedule will be. In that case we should organize and go to her home everyday.
Comment by Hido — August 3, 2009 @ 11:50 am
Ed Perlmutter has just told us he will continue to hid under a desk somewhere (undisclosed location) rather than face a righteously angry electorate. I, and hopefully all of us, respect the office he holds and we will confront him with decorum when he comes out from his hiding place. It appears he does not respect us here in the 7th if he is unwilling to face up to the wishes of his constituents. Hypocrisy is one’s unwillingness to eat his own cooking, choosing rather to serve us his fair while feasting at a five star restaurant. By declining to sign on to the same reform he wishes on us he speaks loudly and clearly. Come November, 2010, I intend to see to it that he is presented walking papers and he joins us here in the private sector.

Did you see what I wrote about the contributions Perlmutter has received from unions supporting “health care reform”?
Comment by Sofie — August 5, 2009 @ 1:03 pm
We need to impress on any pseudo-representatives we have in the Congress or Senate that this is not a partisan thing and it is broad based across all voters. Before the next two elections I encourage the people to research who voted for what and who they took donations from.
1. Any politician failing to have AND LISTEN at town meetings or
2. voting for economy and freedom killing issues like Government run healthcare and cap and trade or
3. who voted for the con of the stimulus bill will have masses of people from all parties working against and voting against them no matter whether they are Democrats or Republicans.
America belongs to the people and NO set of politicians will take our freedom and change our country this massively without taking our input or even reading the American life-changing bills they vote for.
Comment by John Davis — August 6, 2009 @ 8:29 am
I too live in the 7th and am hoping that Ed will hold a town meeting. I’m especially interested in dialoguing with the conservatives of the district, should they allow that to happen, about the goals for American Health Care. The goal should be, in my opinion, quality and equal care for all who are in need of care; which effectively eliminates insurance plans which ration care based on the level of plan that one has. I can’t see how physicians can say that they give standard high quality care to everyone when care is not the same, but based on the ability to pay.

Rep. Betsy Markey (Colorado’s 4th District) currently has a web survey asking if you support the health care “reform” proposal. It is a quick, painless survey and a small chance for the people to speak. Please go and take the survey while it is there. http://betsymarkey.house.gov/Forms/Form/?ID=423&Preview=true
